Doc Hudson, also known as The Hudson Hornet, The Fabulous Hudson Hornet or simply Doc, was a 1951 Hudson Hornet. He was a former dirt track racer who, prior to his death, served as Radiator Springs' judge and doctor. The vehicles of Radiator Springs went to Doc's medical clinic when they needed repairs. Doc was also Lightning McQueen's crew chief and mentor. During his racing days, Doc lived in the town of Thomasville, and his crew chief was a pickup truck named Smokey. Doc's racing number was 51, and he won three Piston Cup trophies. He held the record for the most wins in a single season. Unfortunately, in 1954, Doc had a big crash that ended his racing career. After Doc's racing career ended, he moved to Radiator Springs, opened his medical clinic, and became the town's judge. After Doc's death, his clinic became a museum dedicated to his racing career, and Ramone started repairing the vehicles of Radiator Springs.
